Cover illustration for Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice
For this project I wanted to capture Jane Austen’s talent to create a feeling of intimicy without ever describing much more than the touch of a hand.

Sketch and colour palette process
Here you can see a black and white sketch, as well as two coloured sketches and the colour palette I created for the project.
To fit Jane Austen’s way of playing with contrasts (e.g. Lizzy’s bubbly and witty personality against Mr. Darcy’s somber and conceited attitude), I created a palette using yellow, brown and green, against a bright purple, which is on the opposite side of the colour wheel.
