hand-made Oxeye Daisies Print
With this project I explored how to create unique art prints by combining different creative techniques.
First, I created a digital illustration.
Using my sketchbook, I made composition and colour tests, that I then turned into the digital illustration you can see above.
Then, I thought about how I could easily create a small number of unique, but still similar art prints. To create the art print I worked in two steps. First, I created a lino print showing only the background in solid colour, leaving empty spaces where the flowers, stems and leaves were supposed to go. Second, I used high quality coloured pencils by Caran d’Ache (Luminance 6901) to finish the artwork.
During creating, I documented the different stages, which you can see here.

This is how the finished print looks framed.
To highlight and repeat the colour of the inner part of the flowers, I chose this thick, bright yellow frame. It is perfect for people that love to surround themselves with unique art in their home and appreciate hand-made things.
