Hand-drawn colored pencil sketches of abstract flowers and home decor
In times where everything is flooded with generic AI “art”, I feel myself drawn in the opposite direction. I want to create more analog work and create organic, yet abstract contemporary illustrations. Doing 30mins of free sketching each day has shaped my way to draw and helped me explore new flower shapes and floral patterns.
In my sketches I often collect ideas for beautiful home decor or interior objects. For the flower sketches in bold blue I had hand-painted coasters in mind. They would be perfect for packaging (e.g. for flower-scented candles) or homeware as well.
Scandinavian brands like Hay, Marimekko and Ikea inspire me a lot with their graphic, abstract and also colorful design objects. The two interior illustrations in the middle feature my favorite HAY chair (the J77) and IKEA’s iconic Dyvlinge chair.

The colored pencils I used for the sketches are from the Caran D’Ache Luminance 6901 series and have been an absolute game changer for me. The colors, the texture and the overall quality are just beautiful.
